About Chiropractic

What can chiropractic do for you?

You’ve heard about chiropractic. Maybe you’ve even considered it. Chances are, you’ve got questions – and we want to answer them for you to ensure that you’re completely comfortable with the chiropractic experience.

  1. What can chiropractic do for me?

You may have heard tall tales of chiropractic curing deafness or immobility. However, chiropractic is not a miraculous end-all cure; it is a method designed to rebalance the musculoskeletal system and body structure for restoration of the body’s natural alignment. In some cases, this could relieve pinched nerves, allowing them to normally function – potentially restoring what seemed like an unrelated ailment!

  1. How educated are chiropractors?

Some people believe that a chiropractor’s education is less than other medical degrees. Not true; every chiropractor requires a standard pre-med undergrad degree and 4-5 additional years of graduate school covering physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, and other critical topics. Chances are, your local chiropractor had just as much – if not more – education than your local doctor!

  1. Can I trust a chiropractor with my body?

Do you trust your doctor with your body? In many cases, chiropractic patients begin treatment based on recommendations made by their family doctor! It’s not unusual for chiropractors and surgeons, specialists, and doctors to refer patients to each other – after all, their goal is to make you healthy through the best means possible!

  1. Will I have to rely on chiropractic after my treatment?

Chiropractic is all about restoring musculoskeletal balance. Just like physical therapy, sometimes this imbalance is severe and requires multiple treatments. In other cases, a chiropractor can fix problems in one visit. Stress, poor posture, and physical exertion can all push a body back out of balance – similar to dental work, patients can return for occasional maintenance visits or just to fix extreme conditions.

  1. Is chiropractic the right choice for me?

Quite possibly, and if chiropractic isn’t for you, Dr. Nicole Hamilton will refer you to the medical professional you need. Chiropractic treats more than just back and neck pain; after all, the nervous system connects to every corner of your body. Some ailments that can be treated by chiropractic include joint pain, headaches, migraines, and ulcers.
